Yea-Lin can make rapid prototypes according to the needs of customers by different manufacturing process, include CNC rapid machining, SLA 3D printing, Silicon vacuum casting and injection molding by rapid tooling, etc. Each manufacturing process comes with its own advantages and disadvantages, if you have any questions about the choice of these process, welcome to contact our engineers, they will help you understand the characteristics of these process, and balance your needs and schedule to choose the most suitable ones.
CNC (computerized numerical control)machining is amaterial subtractive manufacturing process where raw material is removed with a variety of numerical control cutting tools to make a part or product. Our CNC machining capabilities enable us to produce the highly accurate parts, full-function prototypes and injection molds. We have 22 sets of CNC machines which special for prototype production to ensure good appearance and accuracy. Our engineers have a lot of experience, not only in the CNC processing stage to help you to optimize the process of machining, but also to point out the possible technological problems in the injection molding or die-casting production of the parts in the future. All of our parts are 100% inspected in accordance with the customer requirements, CNC machining prototypes by plastics and metals are our best-selling products to US and Europe.
CNC machines can be used 24 hours a day continuously to meet your stressful development cycle. Ability to reproduce a single product with precision, from once to thousands of times. Low investment in tooling and preparation costs. The flexibility of CNC machining can produce a completely different product in a matter of hours.
SLA (Stereo lithographic Apparatus) is an additive manufacturing process using a vat of liquid resin and a UV laser to build prototypes layer by layer. It is the most precise prototyping method in rapid manufacturing, it’s often used to produce complicated and intricate objects. Although there are many SLA materials to choose from now, it is still more brittle and weak than plastic materials for injection molding. And we mostly uses SLA models or CNC models as Master Patterns for silicone vacuum casting. SLA has many inherent advantages. It boasts of high efficiency and nearly 100% material usage rate. Because it can make extreme high precision prototypes, it’s often used to produce complicated objects for the inspection of appearance and fitting, like electronic and mechanical components, jewelry, art-ware, etc. Although we can print parts with 780mmX780mmX480mm external dimensions, but forthe function parts bigger than 250mm in size, we would suggest to use CNC machining process as the solution, it will be better cost, lead time, and function needs.
The material used in SLA is photo sensitive resin, which is usually liquid. The material can be simulate ABS, PU, Acrylic, rubber etc. Please click here to learn more.
Advantages of sla 3d printing
Complex designs can be uploaded from a CAD model and printed in a few hours. The prototype with complex structure and difficult to process by traditional manufacture can be printed by SLA. Eliminates the risk during the prototyping process without the investing in expensive molds or tooling and jigs. CAD digital visual modelcan be verified and checked by computer simulation, reduce the cost of error recovery.
SLM (Selective Laser Melting) is in an additive manufacturing method specially developed for 3D Printing metal alloys. It creates parts additively by fusing metal powder particles together in a full melting process. The full melting process allows the metal to form a homogeneous block with good resistance. It fits perfectly for pure metals like titanium or aluminum. Because we need the higher temperature to fully melt the material. Click here for more information about Metal 3D printing.
How Does Metal 3D Printing Work?
Advantages
Large range of metals available Ability to realize complex shapes or internal features Reduced lead times, due to no need for tooling Part consolidation, allowing the production of multiple parts at the same time
Drawbacks
Expensive Specialized design and manufacturing skills needed Limited currently to relatively small parts Rough surface finish, lots of post-processing required
3D printing of metal parts is mainly used in the fields of aviation, aerospace, military industry, mold manufacturing and medical treatment. The common feature used in these fields is personalized, small batch rapid manufacturing
Silicon vacuum casting is a method for making high quality prototypes or low volumes of parts formed from inexpensive silicone molds. Copies made in this way show great surface detail and fidelity to the original pattern. We use SLA or CNC milling models as Master Pattern for silicone vacuum casting and apply finishing on the surface of master pattern, and then we pour liquid silicone rubber around the master pattern in a casting box and split it as a silicon mold after thermal curing. We use this mold to cast different material parts. The life of silicone mold is 20-30 casting, which is suitable for low-volume production.
Low cost for molds. Molds can be finished in a few days. Cast copies are highly accurate with excellent surface texture. Many types of polyurethane resins are available for casting, over molding process available. Meshing small batch demand for engineering models, rapid prototypes, bridge to production.
